You desperately try to stop yourself from reminiscing, which leaves you feeling sad and defeated.
Your mind goes into rehearsing fictional worst-case scenarios based on some events in your life. Before you realize what your thoughts are doing, you lose your ability to control your emotions , and you feel angry, anxious, and triggered, wondering:
What is wrong with me?
Why do I do this to myself?
How do I stop this?
You feel ashamed that your own mind does this to you.
Is it possible to control this?
Can meditation help?
Do you ever wish you had a knowledgable instructor to guide you,
someone who understands how you feel and what you're dealing with?
Someone non-judgemental.
Let Meditate to Soar be your refuge and sanctuary!
This community is for people like you. You will learn different techniques and create a practice that is effective, supportive and transformative, so you can relax your busy mind and calm down your turbulent emotions!
You'll be amazed and so proud of yourself when you catch yourself not responding to the usual triggers, like you're in control of what goes in your mental, physical, and emotional body.

Hi, I'm SevaRam Spronk!
My last decade has been consumed by studying, practicing, and teaching the life-changing practices of pranayama (breathwork), mindfulness, and meditation.
Being no stranger to depression, anxiety, and living most of my life with undiagnosed ADHD, I have experienced the power of those practices first and second-hand. I believe that they should be known and accessible to everyone. We all have the power and the ability to reclaim and enjoy our mental health, and live life unburdened.
But here's the catch: you can't meditate away your problems! With practice, you'll be able to deal with ANY challenges more effectively, with minimal anxiety. Your resilience and capacity will dramatically increase. Rather than feeling like you've got too much on your plate, you'll experience your plate getting bigger, you will have more capacity to deal with the challenges of life!
This meditation magic is actually backed by science, and I want to share it with you!
more balanced emotions and moods
greater self-awareness and connectedness
less anxiety and worry
better capacity to deal with stress
faster recovery from challenging situations
a supportive and effective self-care practice
experienced and compassionate guidance
supportive community
Frequent use of meditation might lead to
certain side effects, such as:
better sleep
lower blood pressure
improved hormonal profile
healthier immune system
improved digestion

The focus on building habits for mental balance and elevation and supporting practices wanes as life becomes easier. We also tend to drop our practice when things become more challenging (no time or energy for yet another thing). The newsletter will be coming to you to remind you that you are important and worthy of taking the time and energy for nurturing your inner peace.

I mean inner lightness, that kind of sensation of not being burdened by something. And, it's possible to carry a burden and feel elevated. It's a state of being able to see different possibilities, rather than just what's right in front of us.
Firstly, I wanted to acknowledge you for continuing to look for what would work for you. Like you, I tried guided meditation, talk and art therapy, even medication, and none of that made a difference. The practices I'm bringing you here have been carefully curated, tried out, and some of them studied by scientists. You should feel a difference within a month or 2. If you don't notice ANY changes, you can cancel.
What we'll be practicing here is pranayama, the root of all the modern "breathwork". These practices have been around for at least 3,000 years, and have been extensively studied by modern science. They are very safe and effective in managing mental and physical conditions when done as directed. Some "modern breathwork" techniques are VERY advanced practices that are taught to people who don't have the skill, knowledge, and capacity to carry out these practices, which can result in a detrimental experience.
In short, not all meditation is equal. Practices like "guided meditation" (aka guided visualization) have a short-lasting relaxing effect, but don't do much for rewiring your brain or balancing your nervous system. Meditation from the lineage of Kundalini Yoga (SevaRam's jam), Taoist, and transcendental meditation have been shown to have the biggest positive effect on the brain. Breathwork (pranayama) has the fastest capacity to affect and balance the nervous system. Mindfulness (aka being fully preset in the moment) is a part of all the meditation, and can be also practiced by itself. We will be working on deepening that skill, as it's the basis of wellbeing. Anyone can learn that!
All sessions are Easter Time (Toronto/New York). They will be recorded.

Meditate To Elevate goes over basics of mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork. It offers some short practices you can get started with. You do NOT have to go over any of that before you join us live. I do encourage you to familiarize yourself with the material, it might answer some questions that are common for those starting with these practices.
Those will be posted in the hub on the weeks when we don't have the live meetings. The schedule will change depending on the month.
I hear you, and what you're experiencing is valid. Having ADHD, my earlier forays into meditation were hopeless efforts resulting in triggered states... People with autism have different consideration than people with ADHD as well... I have been educating myself on making this practice inclusive, and I endeavour to bring people diverse range of practices, so that everyone can discover what works best for them. Please reach out if you have specific concerns. I am convinced that everyone can find a way to practice that works for them.
Definitely! We'll work on finding you a comfortable position, sitting in a chair works for most people.
Email SevaRam at sevaram@sevaramspronk.com . If you want to cancel before your next payment comes out, please give us at least 48 hrs in advance to stop the process.
The themes centre around seasonal and social events in a given month.
In October, we'll focus on "attitude of gratitude", and its role in cultivating feelings of wellbeing.
November will be dedicated to REALISTIC, cozy self-care in the upcoming dark winter months.
In December, we'll connect with themes of being at peace with people in our lives.
We are open to members' suggestions on the themes that are relevant to their lives!
